The Town of Riverview is seeking candidates for the summer student position of Junior Leadership Assistant with the Department of Parks, Recreation & Community Relations from May 15th to August 25th, 2023.

The selected candidate will assist with the planning, organizing, scheduling, promotion, implementation, and evaluation of the Junior Leadership Program specifically designed for youth volunteers ages 13 to 15.

Job Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in post-secondary education and/or returning in the fall.
  • Proof of valid New Brunswick Class 5 Driver’s License.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, web applications such as ZOOM and Go to Meetings, internet research and social media.
  • Knowledge of Town of Riverview brand as well as an interest in graphic design would be an asset.
  • Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Team-oriented, self-directed with good problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with youth.
  • Familiarity with Town of Riverview policies, procedures, rules and regulations, an asset.
  • Current NB Driver’s Abstract, meeting Town’s standards.
  • Current Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening, meeting Town’s standards.
  • Proof of Workplace First Aid and CPR/AED certification must be provided at least two weeks prior to the position start date.

This is a full-time summer position with a rate of pay of $16.05 for 35 hours per week.
