A Great Place to Make Music - Alison Dawn Voice & Music Comes to Riverview

It is sincere passion and exuberance that lead Alison Dawn to bring her music and voice business to Riverview. A professionally trained soprano, actor, and teacher, Alison studied and worked in the arts in Toronto for nine years before bringing her vast knowledge back to New Brunswick.

Alison opened Alison Dawn Voice & Music in Rothesay, NB, in 2020, where creative training is coupled with a firm foundation in technique, musicianship, and music literacy.

“Providing young people a place where they can express themselves, build community, confidence, and feel empowered and uplifted through music, singing, and performance, is my lifelong passion,” says Alison.

Her business steadily grew and has now expanded to a brand-new location at 630 Pinewood Road. With both private and small group singing and piano lessons, baby & toddler classes, summer camps, and musical theatre classes, Alison Dawn Voice & Music gives children a place to be their true selves.

“We're able to offer music lessons in our beautiful studio location rather than children going to teachers' homes. We're also able to give them some small group activities where they can build community, make friends, and fall in love with music and performing through lots of concert and sharing opportunities,” says Alison.

Although Alison lives in Rothesay, Riverview is home to her mother and grandmother. From her frequent visits Alison saw the need for music lessons and exposure to music for children under five and wanted to share that with as many families as possible.

“It just seemed like the perfect place to open our second set of doors and inspire the community around us. Any kind of artistic and musical exposure for children can only affect the community positively, and we're so happy to be able to do that in Riverview,” says Alison.

Alison Dawn Voice & Music is well underway, with students now enrolled in piano lessons, voice lessons, and early childhood education music classes with parents and children. Registration is now open for summer camp and fall private voice and piano lessons. All are welcome to join the grand opening event taking place Saturday, June 17, from 1-3 p.m. There will be cake-cutting with Mayor Andrew Leblanc at 1:30 p.m., along with refreshments, a giveaway, karaoke with a trained voice teacher, and music games and activities for children aged 5 months to 5 years.

In Alison’s own words, “You’ll find a community who truly cares about you and your success.”
