I CAN SWIM Lessons - Fall 2023 Updates!

We are excited to announce that starting Fall 2023, we introduced a range of new changes to the I Can Swim program, all geared towards better suiting everyone's needs. Please reference our Placement Chart to pick the right level for your swimmer.

Tots Program: We are proud to introduce our revamped Tots Program, catering to different age groups. The new structure includes Tots A, designed for children aged 4 months to 2 years, and Tots B, tailored for youngsters aged 2 to 3.5 years.

Intro A and Intro B: Upon completing the Tots Program, or between ages 3.5 to 5 years, your little swimmer is ready to transition to the Intro A course and then Intro B. These courses are tailored for young swimmers who are ready to take their first strokes independently under the guidance of our experienced swim instructors.

Intro 6+: For those 6 - 14 years old who are new to swimming, we highly recommend our Intro 6+ course. This course is specially designed to establish strong foundational skills that will lay the groundwork for a successful swimming journey.

Comprehensive Swim Progression: For our swimmers aged 5 to 14, you’re ready to begin I Can Swim 1 through to I Can Swim 6. The courses ensures a steady growth in skills and water confidence, setting the stage for the potential transition to lifeguarding courses.

Hand in Hand program: In our commitment to assisting every swimmer in achieving their goals, we offer the Hand in Hand program tailored to support individuals with exceptionalities who may need extra assistance in participating in swimming lessons. Before registering, we encourage you to submit the Hand in Hand form. Our team will review your submission and offer the best options for your swimmer. Please note that standard registration fees apply, and availability cannot be guaranteed.

Note, Intro courses are recommended before enrolling in I Can Swim 1.

The "Embracing Responsibility Scholarship" – Paving the Way for Lifeguards and Swim Instructors!

The Embracing Responsibility Scholarship was established by the Town of Riverview to recognize the contributions of Barb Hurlbut, who served as the former Aquatics Coordinator for over three decades. Inspired by her enduring legacy of mentoring lifeguards and instilling the values of water safety, this scholarship is designed to support the post secondary pursuits of lifeguards and swim instructors at the Pat Crossman Memorial Aquatic Center.

Each year, the Embracing Responsibility Scholarship awards $2,000 to a single deserving individual who meets the eligibility requirements.

Open to all lifeguards and swim instructors currently employed at the pool, this scholarship is a symbol of our commitment to their success.
