PETITIONS, PRESENTATIONS & DELEGATIONS

  • The Art Procurement Committee chose nine pieces of work to purchase and be displayed in Council Chambers this year (photos below). Pieces can be viewed below and at Town Hall (30 Honour House Court) during public council meetings. Since it's inception in 2017, the Committee has purchased 42 original pieces from local Riverview artists. 
  • Presentation by Jamie Burke, Stantec, on the Housing Needs Assessment & the Affordable Housing Strategy.

NEW BUSINESS

  • Council voted to opt out of the Circular Materials contract
  • Council approved two resolutions to Transfer Funds to the Reserves in the amount of $2,300,000 from the General Operating Fund to the General Capital Reserve Fund, and the amount of $100,000 from the Utility Operating Fund to the Utility Capital Reserve Fund. 
  • Council approved a motion to accept the recommendations from the recent Regional Policing Study and give direction to Town management to work in collaboration with the two other municipalities on an action plan to implement those recommendations starting in 2024. Council also gave direction to Town Management to work in partnership with the two other municipalities to update the current Tri-Community Regional Police Service Agreement that established the Codiac Regional Policy Authority (CRPA) to strengthen and enhance the accountability relationship between the CRPA and the municipalities that fund that organization.
  • Land Acquisition - Council approved a motion to authorize the transfer of portions of PID 05009949 and PID 05009956 to Trans Aqua in exchange for Trans Aqua’s PID 00642736. 
  • Award of Tender - Council approved a motion through Alternative Procurement for the purchase of one (1) new latest model ½-ton extended cab 4x4 truck, to be awarded to Lounsbury Automotive Ltd in the amount of $51,997.35 plus HST.

OTHER BUSINESS

  • Council passed a motion to cancel the Committee of the Whole meeting for December.
