ADOPTION OF THE MINUTES

  • Regular Council Meeting - December 11, 2023

NEW BUSINESS

  • Council voted to reappoint Jean-Benoit Vanier for a two-year term to the Capital Theatre Board of Directors
  • Council approved the recommendation from staff to approve the RRC Construction Drawings as presented on November 14, 2023, including the addition of an outdoor skatepark, and further direct staff to issue the project for tender.
  • Council awarded Tender 24-71A Supply & Delivery of a new latest model one-ton Chassis & Crew cab to Fairview Plymouth Chrysler Ltd. In the amount of $76,574.00 + HST.
  • Council awarded Tender 24-71B Supply & Delivery of a new latest model one-ton Chassis & Regular cab to Fairview Plymouth Chrysler Ltd. In the amount of $72,974.00 +HST.
  • Council awarded Tender 24-72A Supply & Delivery of one new 6x4 plow Truck Cab and Chassis to Universal Truck & Trailer in the amount of $192,450.00 + HST.
  • Council awarded Tender 24-72B Supply & Delivery of new single axle Cab and Chassis to Universal Truck & Trailer in the amount of $169,075.00 + HST.
  • Council awarded Tender 24-72 Supply & Delivery of Dump Body/Spreader and Plow Equipment for single-axle plow truck (24-72B) and tender 6x4 plow truck (24-72A) to Applied Pressure Inc. in the amount of $468,500.00 +HST.
  • Council awarded Tender 24-83 Supply & Delivery of a new latest model Chassis and Regular Cab to Fairview Plymouth Chrysler Ltd. In the amount of $73,323.00 +HST.
  • Council passed a motion to join the newly formed UMNB Urban Caucus. The Caucus was formed as a result of the Cities Association and Union of Municipalities of New Brunswick merging.  

COUNCIL STATEMENTS/INQUIRIES

  • Councillor John Coughlan invited community members and Council to attend the charity hockey game at the Byron Dobson Arena occurring Tuesday, January 9, at 8 p.m., which is a fundraiser for the Hughes family. Council extends their condolences to the family and friends mourning the loss of Tate Hughes.
