Public Hearing  

A Public Hearing was held as the Town of Riverview is considering re-zoning property on Hillsborough Road bearing PID #05029319 from R1 (single unit dwelling) to RM (residential mix) for the purpose of building four six-unit rowhouse dwellings.  

  • Presentation by Kirk Brewer, Planner – Plan 360 on the proposal for PID #05029319 from R1 – Single Unit Dwelling to RM – Residential Mix for the purpose of four six-unit rowhouse dwellings.  
  • Review of Written Submissions - Council received 25 letters from 23 households.

  • Council recommended to award the following grants
    • MAGMA in the amount of $5,000 
    • Atlantic Nationals Car Show in the amount of $2,000 
    • NB Refugee Clinic in the amount of $4,000 
    • Moncton Women's Basketball League in the amount of $500 
    • Volunteer Centre of Southeastern NB in the amount of $500 
    • Sarah Hale (Miss Teen Canada Pageant) in the amount of $100 
  • Mayor LeBlanc appointed Jessica Dunphy, Brenda Richard, and Melannie Eldridge to the Art Procurement Committee.   

 

Special Council Meeting

AWARD OF TENDER 

  • Council awarded Tender 24-01 for Asphalt Concrete Patching (Utility & General) – Various Streets to MacDonald Paving and Construction, a division of Miller Paving Limited, in the amount of $597,800 + HST, and that the Mayor and Town Clerk be authorized to sign all related documentation.  

ANDREW BLACK, PRESIDENT OF UNION OF MUNICIPALITIES OF NB 

  • Council passed a motion to have the Town of Riverview submit a letter supporting the Union of Municipalities of New Brunswick to the province regarding concerns over the NB property tax system.
