ADOPTION OF THE MINUTES

PETITIONS, PRESENTATIONS & DELEGATION
- Presentation by Trevor MacDougall & Blake Reynolds, CDT Disc Golf - Mr. MacDougall and Mr. Reynolds gave an informative presentation of the growth of disc golf and how they are attracting users from outside of New Brunswick.
RECOMMENDATIONS FROM COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE
- Council approved a motion to move forward with developing a new economic development strategy, and approved Champoux Inc. as a professional consultant on the Town’s Community Economic Development Strategy in the amount of $35,000.
- Council approved a motion to take the five recommended actions informed by the Commercial Market Threshold report as shared in the previous Committee of the Whole meeting.
- Council awarded a grant in the amount of $5,000 to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library and a grant of $1,000 to the Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards.
- Council approved the 2024 budget parameters as presented in the last Committee of the Whole meeting.
- Council approved the terms of reference for the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee.
BY-LAWS
- Council passed first reading of an amendment to the procedural by-law that stipulates that when Council makes a decision on a matter, it cannot be reviewed for 12 months, and changed the time limit for statements during public hearings from 10 minutes to five minutes.
NEW BUSINESS
- Alternative Procurement Award - Council awarded the purchase of new single axle plow truck gear to Applied Pressure Inc. in the amount of $219,000 +tax.
NEXT MEETING
Council will next meet on October 11, 2023, at 6 p.m. for External Presentations by local organizations.
The next Committee of the Whole Meeting is Monday, October 23, 2023, at 7 p.m.
Open Council for budget deliberations will take place on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
