Outdoors for Everyone: Chickadee Goods Takes Flight in Riverview

Emma Foster of Chickadee Goods operates under the belief that the outdoors is for everyone. What started during the COVID-19 pandemic as a small apparel brand has grown to a local shop for gifts and accessories, promoting eco-friendly shopping and local maritime goods.

“I have a background in photography and have always loved art. In 2020 I started digital drawing and created my own brand and t-shirt designs. Creating Chickadee Goods came out of that creative energy, with a stronger focus on connecting with our community and partnering with vendors who share the values of outdoor inclusivity,” says Emma.

Growing up in Riverview, Emma has cultivated a passion for sustainability, art, and outdoor activity. She is proud to feature a lineup of vendors from NB, NS, PEI, and eastern Quebec, making her store a haven for gifts and accessories for anyone who enjoys being outside.

“I have grown to love the many trails and abundance of nature we have in our community, and throughout the whole of Albert County,” says Emma. “I’ve always seen Riverview as home. To open my business here made perfect sense — the space was the right size, there’s parking, better foot and vehicle traffic, and my business is a perfect match for this strong and welcoming community.”

It is not just her creativity and love for local that drives Emma. Having tested the waters in several different fields over the past 12 years, it was in entrepreneurship that she found her niche. With the flexibility to learn new skills, grow as a person, and with no two days being the same, opening Chickadee Goods in August 2023 has brought together her passion and talents to the benefit of local shoppers.

Her storefront at 378 Coverdale Rd (Unit C) is conveniently located across from the Chocolate River Station, just steps from the Riverfront Trail, and close to the Dobson Trail and Mill Creek Nature Park. Make sure you swing by during Harvest Fest on Saturday, September 23, from 9-2, as Chickadee Goods is celebrating its grand opening with treats, in-store specials, a giveaway, and some tasty food vendors will be on site!
