Remembrance Day Service in Riverview

The Town of Riverview will host its annual Remembrance Day service at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church (5 Fatima Drive) starting at 10:50 a.m. on Saturday, November 11, 2023.

Veterans will queue at the Dan Bohan Centre to march into the church alongside fire and police personnel, local cadets, guides and scouts.

Memorial crosses can be pre-arranged for the public to place during the ceremony, through a cash or cheque donation to the Riverview Veteran's Association. Organizations, individuals and families wishing to place a memorial cross may make arrangements to do so by visiting the Parks & Recreation office at 55 Biggs Drive weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Call 506-387-2024 for information.

For those unable to attend the ceremony, the cenotaph outside of Riverview Town Hall is a popular location to pay respects to veterans and can often be found covered in poppies on November 11.

Veterans and their immediate families have been invited to attend a reception directly following the service at the Coverdale Centre - 50 Runneymeade Road.

Please be advised that municipal offices and non-essential services will be closed on November 13 to observe Remembrance Day. The Pat Crossman Memorial Aquatic Centre will be opened for swimming lessons only on Saturday, November 11 and Monday, November 13.
