RIVERVIEW (N.B.) – The Town of Riverview invites local artists to submit their work for the third annual Art Exhibit organized by the Art Procurement Committee and held at the Riverview Public Library. Special thanks are given to the Riverview Public Library for allowing the display of up to 40 pieces of artwork for this Summer Exhibit, taking place from June 27 – July 26, 2023. The citizen-led committee may also select and purchase artwork on the Town’s behalf to add to the Town’s art collection.

Submission forms may be found online, or can be picked up at the Library (34 Honour House Court) or the Parks and Recreation Office (55 Biggs Drive). Forms must be received by 4:30 p.m. on June 9, 2023 and must meet the requirements in the APP Policy. Artwork must be dropped off at the Riverview Public Library on Thursday, June 22 between 4- 6 p.m.

Eligibility

To apply, artists must be Riverview residents and must have been a resident for at least twelve consecutive months. Artist eligibility is not reliant on an artist’s professional status but rather on the artwork. No work by any member of the APP jury or their immediate family will be considered for purchase.

Art acquisition

The Town of Riverview will select artwork to purchase from works submitted for this call. The artwork must be deemed appropriate for the Town’s collection based on the selection criteria established by the APP policy. The artwork will be displayed in Riverview Town Hall’s Council Chambers for up to two years following acquisition and then may be relocated to another Town-owned public building.

Submissions

Each artist may submit one piece of work. Artwork must be original, be suitably framed and be ready to hang. Art that is not accompanied by the APP application form will not be considered.

Artwork drop-off

Artwork must be dropped off to the Riverview Public Library on Thursday, June 22 between 4 – 6 p.m. Submissions will not be accepted after this date and time. The artist is responsible for unpacking their artwork and taking packaging with them. Following the exhibit, the artist is responsible for re-wrapping the artwork upon pick-up, Thursday, July 27 between 4 – 6 p.m.

Acceptance

Artists whose artwork is selected for purchase by the Art Procurement Committee will be notified by telephone by June 16.

Artwork pick-up

Artwork must be picked up on Thursday, July 27 between 4 – 6 p.m. at the Riverview Public Library. The Town of Riverview is not responsible for any artwork not picked up at this time.
