Spring Clean-Up: Bulky items will be collected May 10-14, 2021

Riverview residents will be able to dispose of large and bulky waste on their regular collection day during the week of May 10-14, 2021.

This is an opportunity for residents to get rid of furniture, appliances, electronics, yard waste, etc. (NOTE: Tires will not be collected. As well, we will not collect anything that resembles construction debris or demolition waste, such as decking, toilets, sinks, flooring, carpets, drywall, lumber, wood, fence, tiles, shingles, etc. When in doubt, don’t put it out!)

Here are the rules for bulk waste collection:

  • Items must be placed at the curb before 6 a.m. on regular collection day.
  • Branches must be tied together and can be no longer than 1.2 metres (4 ft). Bundles must be no more than 2’x 2’ with a branch diameter no larger than 1’.
  • Each bag must weigh less than 18kg (40lb). Black bags will not be collected.
  • Household hazardous waste presents a danger to collectors and will NOT be collected. This includes batteries, cooking oil, aerosols, paint, light bulbs, fertilizers, chemicals, CFL bulbs, propane tanks, etc.
  • Tires and construction debris will NOT be collected.

Please note, you can also donate gently-used furniture and household items to Enviro Plus (853-7722) and Habitat for Humanity Restore, Moncton (384-4664).

Meanwhile, Southeast Eco360 accepts household hazardous waste, residential construction waste, appliances, furniture, tires and more through its Mobile Eco-Depot. The service is available at one of the 17 municipalities in the southeastern region on a rotating weekly basis. For more information, visit www.eco360.ca or call 506-877-1040. (This program replaces Eco360’s semi-annual household hazardous waste drop-off in Riverview.)
