Winter Recreation Facilitator (Part-Time)

The Town of Riverview is seeking candidates for the part-time positions of Winter Recreation Facilitator with the Department of Parks, Recreation & Community Relations from November 29th, 2021 to March 30th, 2022. The selected candidate will work Monday and Wednesday evenings from 3:45 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (with some variation). The rate of pay is $15 per hour for a maximum of 9 hours per week.

The purpose of the Winter Recreation Facilitator position is to coordinate outdoor recreational programming for all ages. The Winter Recreation Facilitator is responsible for organizing, scheduling, implementing and evaluating activities related to winter recreation programming. The primary responsibility is towards the equipment loan programs, snowshoe programs, and any other outdoor winter recreation programs.

Job Requirements:

• Valid New Brunswick Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
• Familiarity with Town of Riverview policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
• Currently enrolled in either a part-time or full-time academic program.
• Proven leadership and supervisory roles through work experience, volunteer positions, membership in organizations, etc.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, social media, and email in a corporate setting.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; ability to effectively work with the public.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening.
• Certification in Workplace CPR/ First Aid.
• Certification in HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development an asset.
• Certification in Outdoor Council of Canada - Field Leader an asset.
• Familiarity with snowshoeing and other outdoor winter recreation activities an asset.
