Water main flushing program begins April 16

In order to maintain the quality and service of our water system, the Town of Riverview will be conducting its annual water main flushing program starting April 16 until May 11, 2018. All work will occur between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. from Monday to Friday.

During this time, the public may notice temporary water discolouration or low pressure. This is temporary and should clear within a short time. Water consumption should be minimized if there is a change in the water's appearance.

Residents are also reminded to refrain from doing laundry where possible between the hours of 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. the week that flushing is scheduled in their area. This will reduce the likelihood of clothes becoming stained by discoloured water.

To prevent staining and to clear water lines after flushing, turn on the cold water tap until the water runs clear.
