Winter Carnival Ignite Date Changed to Sunday, February 5

The Town of Riverview wishes to advise residents that the planned kick-off to Winter Carnival - Ignite, has been moved to Sunday, February 5 due to weather conditions. Festival organizers have decided to postpone the event to Sunday in an effort to bypass the extreme cold and wind forecasted Friday through Saturday that have the potential to impact gathering happily and safely as a community. New date, same fun, BYOM (Bring Your Own Mug) - there will be fireworks, hot chocolate, music and more! Come on out with the entire family on Sunday evening from 6:30-7:30 p.m. (fireworks planned for 7 p.m.*).

Tomorrow, you can still cozy up and enjoy the virtual Learn to Snowshoe session at 10 a.m. and Hubcap show at the Holy Whale Beer Hall.

The community has organized an incredible line up of activities and warm winter business specials taking place over the next 10 days! Including indoor fun this Saturday with a craft show at the Lions Club, Pancake Breakfast at the Bethel Presbyterian Church, Story Time at the library, Frozen Open Skateboard Contest and HubCap Comedy Show at Holy Whale. Visit www.riverviewwintercarnival.ca for full details on upcoming events and activities.

Stay warm, Riverview. We'll see you Sunday at Ignite! It's going to be Snow. Much. Fun.

*If you have a pet who is frightened by the noise of fireworks, please be aware and keep them inside during this time.
