Successful Riverfront Market draws to a close

RIVERVIEW (N.B.) – The Town of Riverview would like to thank the public for supporting the Riverfront Night Market.

The weekly, open-air market brought more than 20 food, fresh produce and artisan vendors to the riverfront to sell their products in a safe and accessible location.

Over the course of three weeks, the event attracted over 2,000 people to the area while bringing additional traffic to the businesses in and around the waterfront, providing a new and engaging community activity amid unprecedented times.

"The market gave producers, who were struggling to get their products into the hands of customers due to the ongoing pandemic, the means to sell their fresh and locally sourced products to residents and surrounding community members,” said Shane Thomson, Director of Economic Development at the Town of Riverview.

Marcela Amador, who was a vendor at the market from Maiz & Mixta Taqueria added: “The Riverfront Market was a great example of a good thing that emerged during these unpredictable times. This project showcased the unity of people, and the love for ‘everything local’.”

The market was scheduled to produce four more events, but due to a variety of factors the Town of Riverview has decided to end the season early.

We'd like to thank the growers and creators that made this event possible, and our community members for their support in making the Riverfront Night Market a tremendous success.
