Winter Carnival Ignite

Celebrate the official opening of the 51st annual Riverview Winter Carnival with a community dance party with DJ Krysta Jay and a spectacular fireworks display shooting off from the top of the toboggan hill at 7 p.m.

The Hot Chocolate Express is back and better than last year with more frequent pick-ups and drop-offs! Free transportation to and from the event, skip the hot chocolate line at the VIP hot chocolate tent, and an instant prize giveaway!

Bring your skates or try one of the sledge skates on the outdoor skating oval (helmets recommended).  

Indulge in a Briggs Maples candy on the snow ($3/stick).  

Free hot chocolate, s’mores and lusknikn (bannock) while supplies last. Don’t forget to bring your own mug to help us cut down on event waste. We can't wait to see your cute mugs! 

Mama K's Food Truck will be on site serving up hot and delicious food for folks looking for supper or a snack.

Please leave your sleds and toboggans at home - the sliding hill is closed all day for the fireworks.

Hot Chocolate Express Transportation

• Have you been stuck in traffic on your way to Ignite, missing the fireworks entirely?  
• Have you driven around in circles trying to find a parking spot near Winter Wonderland Park, to no avail?
• Have you stood in a long line at Ignite waiting for hot chocolate?

If you answered yes to any of the above, this service is for you!  If you answered no to all the above, but would love hassle-free transportation to and from Ignite, this service is for you!

What you get:

• Transportation to Ignite at Winter Wonderland Park on Quinn Court via the Hot Chocolate Express Bus
• Transportation back to the pick-up location starting at 7:15 p.m. (immediately following the fireworks), with the last bus run leaving at 8 p.m.
• Skip the hot chocolate line at the event because Hot Chocolate Express riders recieve a VIP ticket for their own free hot chocolate located in the green sustainability tent located on site at Winter Wonderland Park.  Don't forget to bring your reusable travel mug!  
• Peace of mind knowing that you don’t have to worry about parking, you are saving money on gas, and you are doing your part by cutting down on harmful greenhouse gas emissions. 

If you intend to take the bus to Ignite, please complete the form to indicate your interest in travelling on the Hot Chocolate Express.  Completing the form ensures that the bus stops at all the places where folks wish to board the bus.  We don't want to miss anyone!

Codiac Transportation for Central Riverview, Moncton & Dieppe

If you live in central Riverview, please consider taking Codiac Transpo to Ignite.  The #85 bus leaves from the Riverview Mall at 5:12 p.m. and would deliver you to the Pine Glen/Gunningsville stop at 5:44 p.m., or you could catch the 6:12 p.m. bus at the Riverview Mall, which would drop you at the Pine Glen/Gunningsville stop at 6:44 p.m.  The bus leaves again from the same stop at 7:44 p.m. and delivers you back to the Riverview Mall by 8:12 p.m. 

If you are joining us from Moncton or Dieppe, take the #86 bus from the Avenir Centre at 5:50 p.m. and get off at Pinewood / Gunningsville at 6:08 p.m. The bus leaves to bring you back to the Avenir at 7:58 p.m.

For those traveling to the event via Codiac Transpo, be sure to bring your reusable travel mug, head to the green Sustainability tent located on site at Winter Wonderland Park, show us a selfie of you taken riding the bus to the event, and you can fill up with hot chocolate and skip the general public hot chocolate station entirely!
