The Town of Riverview will be celebrating all things YOUTH during the week of May 1-7, 2024!

Youth Week is a worldwide celebration of youth held annually during the first week of May. Cities and Towns across Canada and the rest of the world take time to recognize the artistic, cultural and other valuable work that youth contribute to their communities. 

Youth week 2024 Schedule

May 1 - IDEA Centre Youth Pop up Market 

6:30-8:30 - Riverview Community Hall, 145A Lakeside Drive, Riverview.

Stop by the Riverview Community Hall for the 3rd annual Town of Riverview IDEA Centre Youth Market.  Celebrating youth entrepreneurs in the community, the IDEA Centre students will have their businesses/products and artistic endeavors on display for the evening! Many of the booths will be selling product, so please stop by and support these incredible young business owners!

May 2 - Movie Night

6:00 p.m. - Riverview Public Library

Movie to be announced.

 

May 3 - Flower pot painting workshop with Nathalie 

6:30 - 8:30 - Riverview Indoor Skatepark and Youth Centre

Riverview indoor skatepark and youth centre staff member Nathalie will be conducting a flower pot painting workshop in the Youth Centre. All supplies will be provided by the Town of Riverview!

 

May 4 - Riverview indoor Skatepark and Youth Centre fundraiser @ Holy Bowly!

11:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon - The Marvelous Holy Bowly

$15 for a lane

Stop by the Marvelous Holy Bowly from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon to receive a discounted rate on a lane of bowling with proceeds going directly towards the Riverview Indoor Skatepark and Youth Centre. All fundraising money donated goes to support youth programming in the Town of Riverview :)

 

May 5 - Battle of The Brushes - Live Art Battle!

2:00 - 5:00 p.m. - Riverview Community Hall - 145A Lakeside Drive.

Are you a budding artist aged between 12-18, brimming with creativity and eager for your artwork to be seen? Riverview Community Hall, in collaboration with the esteemed local artist Ji, Art battle champion, invites you to showcase your talent at the "Battle of Brushes" – a speed art competition where you're the master of your canvas, and the theme is entirely up to you!

Artists, Bring Your Brushes: Please remember to bring your own brushes. All other materials (including paints and canvases) will be provided to you.

Seize this chance to express yourself and possibly be crowned the champion of the "Battle of Brushes." To register, simply fill this form out with your name, age, contact details, and a short bio describing your artistic journey
