Regular Council Meeting

Adoption of the Minutes

  • Regular Council Meeting – December 8, 2025

Correspondence

By-Laws

  • Third reading, by title only, of By-Law 700-12-01, A By-Law Relating to the Regulation of Traffic, Parking, and the Use of Streets in the Town of Riverview.
  • This By-Law was recently approved by the NB Registrar of Motor Vehicles and the amendments include the addition of a new paragraph stipulating that on-street parking overnight between December 1 and April 1 is now permitted if the Chief Administrative Officer, or their delegate, deems it safe to do so given operational needs, such as snow clearing and salting. There is also a rephrasing that “no person shall put, place, or cause to be placed upon any street or sidewalk any item that creates an obstruction”, which replaces the previous restriction of “any sport, game, or recreation” that may interfere with the movement of a motor vehicle.

New Business

  • Council passed a resolution to appoint By-Law Officer Emily Pratt.
  • Tender 26-752 for a Sidewalk Tractor was awarded to Saunders Equipment Ltd. through Canoe Procurement contract #CAN-2025-006-TRK in the amount of $201,589 plus HST.
  • Tender 26-756 for a Loader was awarded to Toromont Cat through Canoe Procurement contract #011723-CAT in the amount of $453,000 plus HST.

Council Statements & Inquiries

  • Council inquired about the watermain break occurrences in Ward 2. The Director of Engineering & Public Works shared that the water valve locations in this area require a larger area to be isolated when there is an issue. The Town is working to replace the problematic watermains with updated materials, with this area being a top priority for replacement.
