Recommendations from Committee of the Whole
- Council approved the recommendations to award grants to the Bangladeshi Community Members in Southeastern NB in the among of $500, and to Shelter Movers Greater Moncton in the amount of $2500.
- Council received an update on the edited Procedural By-Law, and passed a motion to move forward with further consideration of the Procedural By-Law.
BY-LAWS
- Council unanimously passed the second reading, by section only, and third reading, by title only, of the Municipal Plan By-Law 300-34.
- Council unanimously passed the second reading, by section only, and third reading, by title only, of the Zoning By-Law 300-8.
- Council passed the first reading, by title only, of the Procedural By-Law 100-10-7, by a vote of 6-1. The updated Procedural By-Law includes stipulations that if the Chair vacates their seat to participate in the debate it must be prior to the debate beginning, or if the debate has begun, by majority consensus of Council.
NEW BUSINESS
- Council passed a motion to accept the proposed 2026 Budget updates as included in the report to Council dated November 10, 2025, as well as the:
- 2026 General Operating Fund Budget of $43,075,972
- 2026 General Capital Budget of $43,584,500
- 2026 Utility Operating Fund Budget $9,067,943
- 2025 Utility Capital Fund Budget of $4,409,000
- Council passed a motion to approve the Five-Year General Capital Plan and the Five-Year Utility Capital Plan (2026-2030). Read the full 2026 Budget Highlights on our news page.
Council Statements & Inquiries
- Councillor Johnson shared that the Santa Claus Parade is taking place on Saturday, November 22, with a rain date of Sunday, November 23. A reminder to residents that access to the north end of Main Street will not be accessible via the Gunningsville Bridge on the afternoon and evening of the parade.
- Mayor LeBlanc reminded residents that the Remembrance Day ceremony is taking place on Tuesday, November 11 at 10:50 a.m. The Mayor’s Light Launch to kick off Light Up Riverview is Thursday, November 20 from 6:30-8:00 p.m., with the countdown to lights on taking place at 7 p.m.!
Next Meeting
Council meets next for a Committee of the Whole Meeting on Monday, November 24, 2025 at 7 p.m. with the Art Procurement Committee artists being recognized at this time. The meeting will be live-streamed on our website, and the agenda will be available prior to the meeting on the Town of Riverview Council Meetings webpage.
