Second Round of Engagement Underway for Riverview Secondary Plan

The Town of Riverview is inviting residents, business owners, developers, and community partners to help shape the future of the Bridgedale-Gunningsville-Robertson area as the Secondary Plan enters its second round of public engagement.

What is a Secondary Plan?

Riverview's recently adopted Municipal Plan sets the overall direction for the whole town. A Secondary Plan goes deeper, focusing on a single area to map out exactly how it should grow and considers land use, housing, transportation, infrastructure, recreation, commercial amenities, and environmental features. The Bridgedale-Gunningsville-Robertson area has been identified as a key future development zone, and this plan will ensure it grows in a connected, thoughtful way.

How to have your say

Residents are encouraged to attend one of two upcoming engagement sessions to review the draft Secondary Plan and share their ideas, priorities, and aspirations for the Bridgedale-Gunningsville-Robertson area.

Input gathered will influence the design principles, development concepts, and policy directions that will shape this part of Riverview for generations to come.

Progress to date

Since the project began in September 2025, the Town has completed a first round of public engagement sessions, technical environmental studies, transportation analysis, preliminary development concepts, gathered input from private and public consultations, and more. All input gathered so far is being woven into a shared vision for land use, connectivity, and sustainable growth.
