Term: Two Years 

The Town of Riverview is seeking a new Town Crier to serve as a ceremonial ambassador and community representative. This honourary volunteer role carries forward a long-standing tradition of civic pride, storytelling, and public celebration. 

About the Role:  

The Town Crier attends key municipal and community events, delivering greetings and proclamations, welcoming residents and visitors, and spreading goodwill on behalf of the Town. 

Time Commitment:  

  • Approximately one official event per month
  • Includes festivals, Canada Day, Light Up / seasonal celebrations, and other special occasions
  • Additional appearances by mutual agreement 

Applicants must: 

  • Be a resident of the Town of Riverview
  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Be comfortable with public speaking and performance
  • Be able to attend events reliably
  • Be willing to serve in a volunteer capacity 

Applicants must not be: 

  • An elected official
  • A candidate considering running for office
  • A Town employee 

A criminal record check will be required for the successful candidate.
