Riverview’s Community Garden is a safe and welcoming place for people to gather, be active, and share their knowledge and gardening experience.
There are 36 in-ground plots and 27 raised beds available for rent. Plots cost: $25 plus tax for the year. Garden plots are available to new gardeners starting on April 1 each year.
For information about becoming a part of this community initiative, contact us or visit us on Facebook.
Thank you to our 2025 sponsors, Kent & RBC, for helping us grow this season.
Their generous support has helped us to offer more raised beds for 2026. We can now make gardening accessible for more folks to enjoy.
Thank you to these business leaders for their commitment to helping our community grow!

Seed Library
“Did you know that Riverview is home to Canada’s largest community seed library? With over 470 varieties of vegetable, herb, and ornamentals, we have something for everyone!
The seed library is a FREE community resource dedicated to preserving heritage seeds, promoting biodiversity, and improving food security by making garden seeds available to everyone in the community!
How does it work?
- Browse our collection online or drop in and “sign out” some seeds – choose as many varieties as you like, but please take only what you can grow this year (see link to digital seed library catalogue on the right of the page).
- Grow a garden and save some seeds (see link on the right of the page).
- Tell a friend! We want as many people as possible taking advantage of this beautiful resource!
- Optional - Return seeds to the seed library – these can be seeds you saved, or purchased, please know the variety, and how old the seeds are.
Seed Library Hours:
Starting January 6, 2026 - Tuesday and Thursday 2:00pm-4:00pm
Location: 50 Runneymeade Road – through the back door of the building, closest to the playground”
