Riverview’s Community Garden is a safe and welcoming place for people to gather, be active, and share their knowledge and gardening experience.
There are 40 in-ground plots, 21 raised beds and 3 accessible beds available for rent. Plots cost: $25 plus tax for the year. There are currently no available plots for the 2024 growing season, however, feel free to call 506-387-2037 to put your name on the waiting list.
For information about becoming a part of this community initiative, contact us or visit us on Facebook.
Thank you to our 2024 sponsors, Canadian Tire Riverview, JD Irving Limited, & Atlantic Superstore Riverview, for helping us grow this season.
Their generous support has made our new greenhouse possible. We can now offer a larger variety of seeds for our gardeners, as well as tools, supplies, and equipment to maintain our garden beds and plots.
Thank you to these business leaders for their commitment to helping our community grow!
Seed Library
The seed library is a free community resource for anyone to access. Seeds can be signed out of the library to plant, and seeds can be returned to expand the library. Stored in filing cabinets that were purchased second-hand or diverted from the landfill, the library currently has 232 varieties of vegetables, 38 varieties of herbs, and 75 varieties of ornamental plants and flowers.
- The seed library can be accessed by appointment by calling 387-2037 or by chance at 50 Runneymeade Rd. Monday to Thursday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Please enter through the back door of the building (closest to the splash pad).
- When donating seeds, please be sure of the variety and the year that they were harvested. As much as we love surprise vegetables, many gardeners and seed enthusiasts like to know what they're planting!
- The seed library also has multiple varieties of coated seed as well as seed tape to help make gardening accessible for everyone.
