The Town of Riverview wishes to advise residents that a water main break occurred on Canusa Drive on Tuesday, May 19th, 2026. A boil water advisory is now in effect for residents and businesses in surrounding area. Please refer to the attached map and list of streets to determine if your address is affected.
Residents and businesses in the affected area should take the following precautions:
- All water used for drinking, preparing infant formulas and juices, washing fruits and vegetables, cooking, and brushing teeth must be brought to a rolling boil for a minimum of 1 minute.
- Tap water is safe for showering and bathing; however, take care to avoid swallowing the water. Toddlers and infants should be sponge bathed to reduce the chance of them swallowing any water.
- You can continue washing your hands with tap water. Use soap and scrub all parts of your hands for at least 20 seconds
- Laundry can still be done using tap water, either by hand or by machine.
- Dishes may be washed by hand in hot, soapy water and left to air dry. It is safe to use a dishwasher.
Users may experience discolored water or air in their plumbing systems. Residents who completely lose water pressure should turn off the circuit breaker for their hot water heaters to prevent damage to the heating elements.
If you have any questions regarding the boil water advisory, please contact the Department of Public Works and Engineering at 506-387-2030.
The Town of Riverview is working closely with the Department of Health and will continue water quality testing over the next 48 hours.
An advisory will be issued when the boil water order has been lifted.
