Riverview Pet Owners: There’s a New Reason to Licence Your Pet Today

More than 1,000 Riverview residents have already taken a simple step to keep their pets safe in 2025 by licensing them. If yours isn’t licensed yet, this is a good time to take care of it—quickly and easily. Here’s what you need to know, along with a limited-time offer for pet owners.

Why Pet Licensing Matters

Keeping Riverview safe is a shared responsibility, and pet licensing plays an important role. A valid pet licence helps ensure that if your dog or cat becomes lost or injured, Animal Control can quickly identify your pet, contact you, and help make informed decisions in your pet’s best interest. Without a licence, those options are limited.

Pet licensing is also required under Town by-laws. All dogs and cats in Riverview must have a valid licence, renewed annually. Owners without a licence may be subject to a fine of up to $50.

Every Riverview pet licence includes access to HomeSafe®, a free 24/7 lost pet recovery service that links to your pet’s online profile and helps reunite pets with their owners faster if they go missing.

Safety, with a Personal Touch

For a limited time, Riverview pet owners can also add a bit of personality to that protection.

When you licence your pet, you’ll receive a free designer tag that doubles as their official licence tag. With hundreds of designs to choose from (or the option to create your own) it’s a simple way to combine safety with style.

Until May 31, residents can claim one free designer tag using promo code RIVERVIEW100. This offer is available to Riverview pet licence holders only, is limited to one per person, and some exclusions apply.

Getting Started Is Easy

Visit the Riverview pet licensing portal to register your pet and apply promo code RIVERVIEW100 at checkout. Offer expires May 31, 2026.
