ADOPTION OF THE MINUTES

PETITIONS, PRESENTATIONS, & DELEGATION

  • Presentation by Réda Benhima on behalf of the Université de Moncton - Passon a l'Action Climatique (PAC), and Mark LeBlanc - Transport Actif Moncton, Active Transportation Coalition Moncton. This presentation addressed the challenges faced by students at U de M who want to access public transit. They conducted a survey that shows the system needs changes to better support the use of public transit to access the university campus.

RECOMMENDATIONS FROM COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE

  • Council approved the update to medical student scholarships.
  • Council approved the policy related to the disposal of fire department vehicles/apparatus.
  • Council approved the award of the grants to the Al Salam Community Centre, the Indo-Canada Association, River of Pride, and The Greater Moncton Asian Heritage Society.

NEW BUSINESS

  • Council awarded Tender 25-60 for Whitepine Road reconstruction (the last section between Cleveland and Pine Glen) to Birch Hill Construction Ltd. in the amount of $966,923.00 plus HST.
  • Council passed a resolution to appoint Michal Langleben as the by-law enforcement summer student.
