Family walking the riverfront trail under the holiday lights

Experience Light Up Riverview November 20 – January 4

It's the most wonderful time of the year - bundle up for festive fun along the twinkling riverfront as we Light Up Riverview for the 10th season! Over 40,000 lights illuminate Riverview's riverfront for all to experience the multi-coloured magic of the trail.

Mayor Andrew J. Leblanc and Riverview Town Council invite you to join them on the Riverfront Trail on Thursday, November 20 at 7 p.m. for a festive evening filled with tunes, treats and tremendous fun!  Special thanks to our sponsors, Jean Coutu, Kwong’s Chinese Restaurant, and SE Mutual for making this year’s event possible with their generous donations.

  • Music will be in the air as FMU (Flea Market Underground) rocks the night away at the riverfront gazebo from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.. For Deaf, hard of hearing, and late-deafened communities, American Sign Language interpreters will be on stage rocking alongside them during the band’s performance and Mayor Andrew J. LeBlanc's greetings at 7 p.m.
  • Discover our popular Youth Village along the trail! Here, you can grab a hot chocolate from the RHS Royal Reign Dragon Boat team, complete the scavenger hunt, and connect with the Riverview Youth Collective! Don’t forget to bring your own mug to help cut back on single-use event waste.
  • Stroll by the lighthouse to find RHS students from the Peace and Friendship Allyship and Youth in Action groups fundraising by serving up a special fire-roasted treat of Bannock.
  • Bring your letter for Santa and drop it in our mailbox in front of the Gazebo for special direct delivery to the North Pole. After the event, the mailbox will be relocated by the elves to Riverview Town Hall, 30 Honour Court until Thursday, December 4.
  • If you're feeling thirsty, stop by the Fundy Chocolate River Station for spirited beverages created especially for the evening by Holy Whale and Buddha Bear Cafe. While you’re there, take in the musical stylings of Chris Copelaugh from 6-8 p.m.
  • Soak up the sounds of the season courtesy of Atlantic Ballet’s Musical Theatre Youth performing traditional carols along the trail.
  • Check out the list of business specials which include sales, extended business hours and an opportunity to visit with Santa!
  • Local businesses can also participate in the holiday cheer by taking part in the Merry and Bright Challenge. Starting November 20, participating businesses will be featured on our Driftscape app map.
  • Enjoy a guided walk through the lights with free hot chocolate on Friday, November 21 with our Recreation in Riverview & Youth Drop-In teams.

Rolling, snowshoeing, and fat biking along the trail are all encouraged throughout the festival, but residents are encouraged to enjoy the Light Launch on two feet as it's a popular night to take in the lights. However you choose to move along the riverfront; Light Up Riverview is a must-see holiday experience in New Brunswick, on until January 4, 2026.

Visitors are reminded of trail etiquette – please be courteous to fellow trail-goers so that all can enjoy this dazzling holiday tradition.

Please note that the boardwalk section of the riverfront by the Fundy Chocolate River Station is still under construction and won’t be accessible to the public. The Electric Vehicle chargers by the Gazebo also won’t be available the day of the event.
