Help Shape the Future of Riverview: Attend Our Municipal Plan & Zoning By-law Open Houses
We are updating our Municipal Plan and Zoning By-law.
Throughout the past year, the Town of Riverview has been working on a review and update of the Municipal Plan and Zoning By-law. This has included collecting feedback from residents to determine what types of policy should be incorporated into the Municipal Plan and Zoning By-law through online and in-person engagement efforts, and developing a draft Municipal Plan and Zoning By-law to reflect the community's vision and needs.
We are now entering our second round of engagement and we want to hear your thoughts on the current draft. Check out our open house sessions happening on June 12th 2025, and stay tuned for online engagement opportunities, including the opportunity to share feedback on the proposed "Big Moves" in the Municipal Plan and Zoning By-law.
What: Municipal Plan & zoning By-Law Open Houses
When: Thursday, June 12, 1-3 p.m. and/or 6-8 p.m.
How Long: 2 hours
Where: Council Chambers, Town Hall
What is the Municipal Plan?
The Municipal Plan is an urban planning tool that represents a roadmap and guidebook for Riverview. It helps us decide where things should go and how we should grow. For example, it tells us:
- Where houses, shops, and parks should be built;
- Where we can protect natural areas;
- Where we need roads, schools, and other important infrastructure;
- Building requirements, guidelines, and processes;
And much more!
Think of it as a plan to make sure our town develops in a way that's good for everyone and keeps our community beautiful and functional. We're hosting Open Houses for the public to engage and give feedback on the updated Municipal Plan and Zoning By-law draft. These meetings will be held at Riverview Town Hall on June 12 - with an afternoon (1-3 p.m.) and evening (6-8 p.m.) session planned. All are welcome to share input on the future of zoning and development priorities in Riverview.
We look forward to having residents participate in these upcoming public consultation sessions.
