Jeremy Thorne is currently serving his second term as Councillor for Ward 3, first elected in May 2016. Prior to running for office, he worked as an animal control officer and now works in e-commerce. In June 2021, Councillor Thorne was elected Deputy Mayor for a one-year term and was reappointed to the role in May 2025.
A lifelong resident and proud graduate of Riverview High School, Jeremy is deeply committed to serving his community. As a Councillor, he champions key priorities including veterans’ affairs, fiscal responsibility, sustainable growth, civic engagement, and government transparency. He is also a strong advocate for mental health awareness, believing that greater support for mental health services helps build a stronger, more resilient community.
Outside of Council, Jeremy enjoys spending time with his family in Riverview’s many outdoor spaces and taking part in local community events. As a dedicated father, he values the wide range of family and youth programs the community has to offer.
Among his personal interests are writing, photography, camping, and all things retro.
